Pixabay.com is a free image library that allows you to search from over 360000 free photos, illustrations, and vector graphics or share your own pictures as public domain.
Earlier we have discussed about inserting images from pixabay to WordPress posts, pages and other custom post types right from content edit screen. Now today in this lesson you learn inserting beautiful image galleries via shortcode in WordPress.
You can select in shortcodes, which images to display – filter by search term, image type or author and include multiple widgets on the same page.
Pixabay Images Gallery is the new WordPress plugin that allows you to render pixabay images in responsive layout. It provides you following set of features:
- A responsive image gallery similar to Google Images and Flickr.
- Fast and very lightweight.
- Filter images by search term, image type or image author.
- Highly customizable.
Start by installing ‘Pixabay Images Gallery’ plugin in WordPress
Upon activation, visit your admin area dashboard Settings -> Pixabay Images Gallery page to set the plugin. Now either create a new post/post type or open any old one to edit and use shortcode [pixabay_gallery]
.
You may add attributes and select images you’d like to display. All available shortcode parameters are listed on this plugin’s settings page in your admin area dashboard.
