Display a list of post attachments with icon and details. Using EG-Attachments plugin you can add new shortcode attachments. Although the shortcode has many options but don’t worry because the plugin is “TinyMCE supported” with which from the post editor all you need to click the EG-Attachments button, and it allows you to select the documents to display, title of the list, size of icons etc.

Install and activate it then visit Dashboard -> Settings -> EG-Attachments and set the parameters. Check detailed installation and usage steps here.

Each attachment’s list includes: Title, Description, Icon, Caption, Type, Date and Size. And you have options for Icon size, Sorting order, Document type and list, List Title, Each Document Label, Fields like caption, description, date, type etc, Attachments link type: permalink, or direct link to the file and option for Force “Save as” rather than displaying document.
