Now when BuddyPress is activated its all Account Links automatically get integrated with WordPress Admin Bar. Now BuddyPress doesn’t provides any BuddyBar to its new users. In old days there were many free BuddyPress plugins available for customizing BuddyBar and hence it was easy for the site owners to customize BuddyBar in their own style. But now you only get WordPress admin bar and there is not a single plugin available that provides you full customization of WP Admin Bar visually in a user-friendly way. There are some good plugins they only provides you tweaks unless you are very good in writing CSS.
Today someone tweeted us asking that he want to remove WP-BP Admin Bar and bring all its BuddyPress My Account links on sidebar in his client’s website.
Well you can easily remove admin bar either by using its hack or by activating this plugin. So one problem is solved, now for adding its BuddyPress My Account Links (comes visible near Howdy when user is logged in) in a sidebar widget you can use BuddyBar Widget plugin. Yes, this is the same old plugin created during the times of BuddyBar but this plugin still works with WP-BP Admin Bar. All you need to do is install and activate BuddyBar Widget. After activation visit Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets page and drag-drop its widget to your sidebar. You may choose a custom widget title and That’s all. Visit frontend of your website and see it working.
