By default, custom link images can only be used with manually shared links on FB fan pages. First make sure SEO by Yoast plugin is active on your WordPress site then follow the given steps:
Visit Dashboard -> Posts -> Add New page or open any old post for editing.
Scroll a little bit down to WordPress SEO by Yoast meta box (present after the content writing box) and click ‘Social‘ tab.
Click ‘Upload Image‘ button and you can upload or use media library image using same old media thickbox. Choose an an image and click ‘Use Image‘ button.
