Start by installing ‘Archived Post Status’ plugin in WordPress
Upon activation, visit your admin area dashboard Posts -> Add New or open any old post, page or post type to edit.
Now choose ‘Archived’ post status from ‘Publish’ metabox. You can do same also from ‘Quick Edit’ option an Posts -> All Posts screen.
It allows you to archive your WordPress content similar to the way you archive your e-mails.
Hence, you can unpublish your content without having to trash them. The plugin is compatible with posts, pages and other custom post types you have in your WordPress installation. Ideal for websites where certain kinds of content is not meant to be evergreen.
