Outlook.Com Is Loaded With Vast Privacy Issue

I am using Gmail since long and will keep using it. Microsoft Outlook.Com is loaded with vast privacy issue of contemporary world.

Outlook.Com Keeps Your Mail Without Your Permission Even After You Delete It And You Think It Is A Cool Feature

It offers you a feature for Recovering Deleted Mails even after emptying your trash you can get your mails back from Deleted directory’s link “recover deleted messages.”

This might be useful sometime but it is the most serious flaw. Outlook.com doesn’t respect your privacy. Its spying on you. Its a CIA agent. You can get your deleted messages back; it means all of your content is safe on their server even after removing it permanently.

When you delete anything on Gmail it moves to Trash bin. You can restore it from there but if you want to delete it permanently then you empty the trash bin and your mail is completely gone and you are free. But in case of Outlook.com where you delete your mail, it moves to trash, you empty the trash bin for removing your mails permanently from your account but it is still there. You don’t know where it it. You cannot see it but it is there on the server and they tell that this vast privacy issue is a cool feature.

If You Think That Outlook Offers Unlimited Space, you are Wrong. Microsoft Is Misguiding You.

On Internet there is nothing like unlimited. Anyone who offers you unlimited space, bandwidth or anything is fake. Internet runs on hardware not space and hardware cannot provide anything which is unlimited. Google is honest and respects science-mathematics so it tells you the truth that they offer you 10 GB storage. Outlook.com is just opposite and it came from the proprietary background of Microsoft so they trick on you. Open and clear fact is that on Outlook.com you can receive email with maximum size of 25 MB which is similar to Gmail. If Outlook.Com is better than Gmail then it should increase this size. Saying that you give Unlimited storage doesn’t matter because one can backup the mails on other machine but receiving mail more than 25 MB might be a step ahead. Then also I will not be using Outlook.Com because still it has privacy issue and proprietary background.

Google integrates Google+ network with your mailbox. May be none of your friends use it. May be they are using Facebook,  Twitter and LinkedIn which easily gets integrated with Outlook. Is that actually matters for you, if yes then I am sure you will be using Facebook Email Service for all of your mails and Facebook Search for finding things.

People who are more close to science and math use Google like Linus Torvalds because they understand the technical superiority and honesty of Google.

How can you trust anything from Microsoft. You know what its founder says:

“I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job… because, he will find an easy way to do it”

And what he actually does, he choose toppers knowing that toppers work day and night for merit.

Microsoft is misleading you, tricking you since a very long time. They are selling the most insecure operating system at very high rates (and also in parts). So it is better to change your mind if it is bending towards the wrong side. Don’t use Microsoft products. Don’t use Outlook. They are less scientific. Use Linux as  it is free and open. Use Google as it is honest and scientific.

When Your Facebook Group Chat Stops Working

If your Facebook group chat is not working or suddenly it stopped working and your are checking Facebook group settings to find out the problem and enable Facebook Group Chat. Then you must know:

You cannot enable chatting in any Facebook group which has more than 250 members because Facebook group chat automatically gets disabled when the number of group members exceeds the default limit of 250.

There are only two conditions when Facebook Group Chat stops working:-

When your Group Chat Settings are Off

SOLUTION – Visit your group >> Select Edit settings >> Check Send Me Group chat messages

When Group members are more than 250

SOLUTION – You cannot do anything for this because members are more important than chat. Use Group Wall for discussions. You may tag your friends in a post by using @ followed by the name and it drops down the name suggestion. Select it and add friend for the public message. It sends a notification to the person you have added in your post.

Today Facebook has announced few improvements in the photos section.

Now You Can See Bigger Photos On Facebook

By clicking photos at the top of your timeline you can see larger pictures filling up all over your page. You can use menu for finding shots you are tagged in, images you have shared and albums you have created.

You can easily show your favorite photos to your friends from Facebook’s new photos all in one section. Click star button to make important photos stand out as shown in the following image:

How to Reposition an image preview on your Wall?

  1. Open your Timeline.
  2. Scroll to the image you want to fix.
  3. On the right hand side of the image click small Pencil icon.
  4. Click Reposition and use your mouse to adjust the image.

Note: You can also reposition your Timeline’s Header Image

How to Edit Facebook Comments?

  1. Open the page where you have commented.
  2. Right hand side of your comment; there is a pencil icon.
  3. Click it. It gives you two options Edit and Delete.

How to Schedule Facebook Posts on Pages?

  1. Open your Facebook Page.
  2. In share box where you write your posts, there is a small clock icon on the left.
  3. Click that small clock icon and follow the instructions.

How to export a Facebook Event?

  1. Open your event page.
  2. There is a button Create event and on its right side there is a drop down button, click it.
  3. Now click Export Events.

How to Post on Facebook from Email and Mobile ?

  1. You can even post an update to your Facebook Timeline (wall) using email and SMS.
  2. Move to your Page >> Click Admin Panel >> Click Update Info >> On the Left Sidebar Click Mobile.

Now copy that secret email address and,

  1. To upload a photo, email the photo to this address and include a caption in the email subject line.
  2. To update your status, write in the email subject line and leave the email body blank.

There are more options available check them all. You may signup for SMS etc.

How to edit the name and description of the link you have shared on Facebook?

  1. After you type the link address on Facebook it fetches the link name and description.
  2. If you want to edit link’s name (title) then click it on its name.
  3. If you want to edit description then click on the description and edit it.

How to Allocate Roles to Page Admins ?

Facebook Page provides option for the page administrator to give different roles to other people like you can make someone page manager, moderator, advertise etc.

To allocate roles move to your Page >> Click Admin Panel >> Click Edit Page (dropdown) >> Click Admin Roles.

How to check the number of People viewed your Post Organically vs Virally ?

Yes you can see how many people have viewed your posts on your Facebook page.  You may check it by hovering on “X people saw this post” .

Where Organically means fans and Virally means friends of fans.

How to see pages that liked your page?

Open your Page >> Admin Panel >> New Likes >> Click See All.

How To Add Facebook Chat On Firefox Sidebar

1. Open Firefox browser.

2. Move to top navigation menu

3. Select Bookmarks >> New Bookmark

4. Place a new bookmark with following details:

  • Name it “Facebook Chat”
  • Set location at http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php
  • Check this “load this bookmark in sidebar”

Facebook Is Less Trusted With Personal Data Than Others

Fewer Internet users trust Facebook with personal data than other Internet companies.

According to Harris Interactive Inc. Survey:-

  • 1/3rd Internet users says that they are comfortable with Facebook’s policy of handling personal information
  • 41% respondents trust Google to show ads based on past Web searches.
  • 66% percent, are comfortable with Amazon using data on past purchases to recommend products.

Bypassing Social Reader Apps In Facebook

Many Facebook stories that appear on your newsfeed require Social Reader App to open access so you can read them. The main problem with the Social Reader App is that it broadcasts your profile activity to newsfeed of other sites hence each of your friend know what you are reading on Internet. If you don’t want your friends to know what you are reading then you should bypass the Social Reader App:

  • In most cases Facebook offers cancel button whenever you click any link that require Social Reader App. Clicking cancel button redirects you to the article without publishing it on other networks.
  • Some Social Reader Apps like Yahoo when posts links on newsfeed doesn’t give cancel button and immediately posts the link on your Timeline. In such condition move to: Privacy Settings >> Ads, Apps and Websites >> Edit >> Apps you use >> Edit Settings >> Select your App >> Click Edit And Now select “Only Mean” on Posts on your behalf . This manages who can see posts this app makes for you on your Facebook Timeline.
  • Now the easiest way to read any article that requires Social Reader without letting anybody know is to copy the heading of that article and paste it on Google search and read it. Actually all those articles that require Social Reader on Facebook are open on the web so you can read them from somewhere else.
  • If you need to block Social Reader App permanently then open App Menu present on your Facebook’s Homepage, look for Social Reader and click [x]  to remove it.

What is SPDY ?

SPDY means speedy. It is an experimental networking protocol developed primarily at Google for transporting web content. Its main objective is to reduce loading time of any web page. It modifies the way HTTP requests and responses are sent over the wire.

Facebook Groups Start Showing Who Saw Each Post

Yesterday Facebook introduced a new group feature on Facebook’s Newsroom. Facebook groups are the places for similar interests, activities, ideas where your are free to share things with the people having common interest on a particular subject. You can join a group to get connected with the communities, organisations etc.

Now when you visit any group  you can view who’s seen each post and you can easily get updated with the group’s ongoing activity. Like in Open Source Council (a Facebook group) if you share a link or may be your blog post then you will see who got its update.

Facebook Introduced App Center

I just logged in my Facebook account and got a notification “Introducing App Center” on side bar. I clicked it and now I can see a left sidebar showing category group of ALL, WEB & Mobile followed by a list of different categories:

  • Games
  • Entertainment
  • Facebook
  • Lifestyle
  • Music ‘
  • News
  • Photos & Videos
  • Sports
  • Travel & Local
  • Utilities
  • Requests

You must be knowing about each category and what it stands for as Facebook Apps are not new, only App Center is development.
Now I come to header which is showing two blocks on top left corner with these names:

  • Mobile Apps
  • Timeline Apps

Top Right corner of header shows random adds of different apps.

Body section shows two columns:

  • Suggested Apps (left column) Personalized app suggestions for you.
  • Friends’ Apps (right column) Apps that your friends have used recently.

After I scrolled a little I can see a menu of The highest rated and most used apps as follws:

  • Top Rated
  • Trending
  • Top Grossing

After moving back to home I can see icon of App Center in apps menu on left sidebar under groups and favorite section.

Now You Can Listen Music With Your Friends On Facebook

Facebook launched new music feature. Now you can listen music with your friends on Facebook . If one your Facebook friend plays music then you and a group of other friends can join him and each one can listen the same track at the same time.

How Facebook Music Feature Works?

Check music note in the Facebook chat sidebar to know which of your friends are listening to music. You can listen the same track with your friend by hovering over their name and clicking the listen button and the music will play through the service your friend is using.

You can chat with your friends about what you are listening, others are also free to join that chat and listen along but if you want you may control your listening with others through settings.

Facebook Is Working On Want Button

Facebook is testing Want Button similar to Like Button which is used across all pages on Facebook. Developer Tom Waddington said that a Want Button is added to the Facebook Javascript SDK as an XFBML tag <fb:wants>. Facebook has yet not listed this extension publicly. The button is for the objects marked as products on Open Graph.

Developers may use this new feature of Facebook for creating their Want Buttons  but authorization of any third party application is necessary to make it work.

Facebook Want Button is a Flop or Not?

Facebook Want Button would be quiet different from Facebook Like Button. Like Button shows individual interest but Want Button would be good for business purpose.

On one hand Facebook Like Button shows the user interest in product. Anyone can show his interest on certain product likewise a person who don’t have money to buy Apple I-Pad doesn’t mean that he don’t like it.

And, On the other hand Facebook Want Button would be showing individual’s interest on getting the product or buying it. Hence it reduces ambiguity for advertisers and target audience become more clear.

Facebook Has Removed The Home Page Ticker

I just noticed that Facebook removed the home page ticker but some of subscribers of mine are telling that it is still visible on their home page. I just figured out that many others are also experiencing the same as many stories are appearing on Twitter (check latest ones here and here) about the vanished Facebook Ticker. Some are telling it would be back soon like Randy Hamilton. Some are telling that Ticker is back again etc. etc. But it is still not visible on my Facebook home page.

What is a Facebook Ticker?

Facebook Ticker shows you the things  in real time.

Features of Facebook Ticker:

  • It keeps up with the latest news as it happens
  • You can listen to music with your friends
  • You can hover (or click) over a story to join the conversation

Ticker shows live happening stories like status updates, friendships, photos, videos, links, likes and comments. This activity is visible elsewhere on Facebook but Ticker let you see this as soon as it happens.

Changing Facebook Page’s Username/URL

I Just Changed Facebook Page’s Username. Now URL of Opensource Book page on Facebook  is not www.facebook.com/OpenLAMPbooK but now it is www.facebook.com/opensourcebook  You may also do so just follow the following steps:

  1. Login to your facebook account.
  2. On the left sidebar, just above the chat faces click the Page of which you want to change the URL.
  3. On the top you will see  three buttons: Edit Page | Build Audience | Help
  4. Click Edit Page 
  5. Form the drop-down menu select Update Info.
  6. On The Third line You will see Username 
  7. On the right side of Username click Change username link
  8. You will seeing your old Username side by you Page name.
  9. Change it, type the new one and click Check Availability.
  10. That’s all. Save the new Username and start using it.

Finally facebook has removed google from its global number one rank slot. It is true TODAY that facebook is number one. It will remain so further or not is of lesser importance. Anyone likes it or not is very personal but facebook is now top-most asset formation on planet earth built almost individually by a proficient programmer’s being devotionally focused for what Steve Jobs often praised Mark Zuckerberg. I congratulate you Mark Zuckerberg for being number one on planet earth. You are excellent.
