Google Nexus 7: a post-PC device for the rest of us. Well played, Google. If your budget hits a ceiling at £200 then the Nexus 7 is just the right tablet for you. It’s a really good tablet. Now, is it a great tablet?
Inexpensive and Surprisingly high-quality hardware fine working with Android Jelly Bean will make largest possible market for Nexus 7 in India. If Google integrates Universal Free Education System (that primarily works in India’s Language) in Nexus 7 in its release in India then I am sure it would be attracting 1.21 billion people of India because they would be learning the most advanced technology in their language and that would be changing the geopolitical structure of Internet and Google too because only 121 million Indians are active on Internet from 1.21 billion overall guessed population. Currently 929.37 million Indians are using mobile devices because its inexpensive and easy as they don’t need any education for that. Hence, it would be good if Google targets them first.
Nexus 7 16GB Is Sold Out. Google is not taking any more orders for Nexus 7 16GB: https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_7_16gb No idea when it will be available again. Still, buyers may leave an email message for Nexus 7 16GB model and Google will notify them as soon the model get available. Nexus 7 8GB model is still available. Although demand for smaller 8GB version is comparatively low than 16GB one.
After all Linus Torvalds got his Nexus 7. Although he has absolutely nothing to report. He updated his phone immediately upon getting it.
Linus spent all initial time just updating the one-time passwords he has for all his toys and browser sync etc. However he is sure that there is some smart way to sync two different phones with google authenticator. It’s somewhere in the settings, He bets but hasn’t got yet. So the “obvious” way to update 2-step verification was to disable and re-enable it, which seems to invalidate all old authentication tokens.
He kept his experience open to world since he ordered it. That is a very good thing about him and may be to nexus 7 also. Wait for more of Linus Experiences about Nexus 7.
If you are confused between Nexus 7 & New Samsung Galaxy Note Sporting 5.5 Inch Screen or any other smartphone and unable to take decision then you must know:
- Linus Torvalds pre-ordered Nexus 7.
- Linus Torvalds is checking delivery date of Nexus 7 again and again.
Now you would be saying that you don’t take your decisions by watching what others are doing. What do you think? You are wiser than Linus Torvalds? You think Linus Torvalds comes in ‘others’ category.
It is good if you don’t watch others and make your decisions but truly this is what you really do but you don’t know. You see adds, you watch movies and you buy stuff.
Many of you purchased Sony Xperia after watching Spiderman but are you really satisfied with Sony Xperia? If you say yes then you are very lucky because others who purchased it realized that the most important feature (seeing what they purchased Sony Xperia) actually don’t works. Hence it is much-much better to watch Linus Torvalds and buy Nexus 7 instead of watching Spiderman and buying Sony Xperia.
Everybody experiences some hardware-software conflict in such smartphones because developers are different. If you are willing to experience this conflict everyday then don’t buy Nexus 7.

I have already changed my mind from New Samsung Galaxy Note Sporting 5.5 Inch Screen to Nexus 7 .
I am not sure whether I should change my mind for Samsung’s new Galaxy Note sporting 5.5 inch screen. It is inconvenient for holding in one hand or against your face but size doesn’t matter if the stuff you carry makes you to keep other stuff aside. Likewise hanging a laptop on you shoulder, holding a tablet in your hand and still keeping a mobile in your pocket is a bad idea.
Nexus 7 is not a subject related to failure of Google Plus. Google Plus was better than Facebook, it was well integrated, fast and really open (unlike to Facebook) but it failed because it was not having critical mass that Facebook already gained. Same thing happened with Facebook’s Email service. This time Facebook was lacking critical mass unlike to Gmail. But quoting this we cannot say that Facebook’s Email service was bad or Google don’t know how to work with social networking.
Nexus 7 and Samsung’s new Galaxy Note both works on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But I suppose Google knows better working with Android than Samsung. Samsung was only Android’s marketing vehicle before the existence Nexus 7.
Android is Google’s baby that Google adopted keeping in mind all his services that is why using Android in any machine prompts you to login with your Google Account so that you can get connected with Google services and hence connecting & using Google account becomes most useful and important activity on any Android machine. I have used other Android machines and a few of them like Sony Ericsson Xperia fail to connect with Google account and you get confused between hardware and software conflicts. So why not use Nexus 7 where everything comes to Google and using Google’s machine for Android is a better option as it would be working better than anything else. So I’ll be waiting till October for Nexus 7 release in India.
I am planning to buy Nexus 7 and wait till its India launch instead of buying Apple i-pad-3 now. I have not mentioned any other device as I expect Steve Jobs integrity effect out of Nexus 7 as well. Although Google can do much better by more collaborative approach to India up to the extent of collaborating with Universal Free Education System.
India could be more than welcoming to Nexus 7 as its largest possible market, if retail price remain below INR 10,000 in tie up with some telecom companies and device facilitates free homeschooling in local language. Moreover an exchange offer for old device of user with Internet time may bring additional wonder. Almost everybody out of this largest growing mobile market may then buy Nexus 7.
