Shardul Pandey Talks To Lahaul Seth

I welcome you Lahaul at, please tell our netizens about yourself. Thanks for having me, Shardul. Apart from blogging and freelancing, I’m currently working full time as a Senior Systems Engineer for Infosys Ltd. I started blogging at the end of 2011. I was always fascinated (still am) with web technologies. I was inspired even more after watching the movie ‘The Social Network’. I was determined to build something of my own on the web. My first blog was on Blogger where I was writing about blogging itself and how it helped in increasing my technical skills. After a few months, I applied for Google Adsense for generating some revenue. Unfortunately, it didn’t last because someone click bombed my site and my Adsense account was deactivated. I was determined to find an alternate source of income and that’s when I got into Affiliate Marketing. After few months, I made my first income online after referring a product online.

What is the story behind your domain name? How exactly your idea sparked? After my first year of blogging, I decided to get a self-hosted WordPress blog because it makes your blog flexible to different kinds of customizations. I created Lion Blogger during the first week of 2013. The idea for the domain of Lion Blogger actually came from someone I was friends with, who was/is running Dragon Blogger. To me, Lion Blogger sounded catchy and cool, so I decided to buy the domain.

How you reach up to new audience, what efforts you do for promoting your domain online? I use SEO and Social Media Marketing to do promote content. For maintaining my online presence, I prefer to use Social Media.

The biggest source of traffic for most blogs are search engines and the social media. There are millions of bloggers around the world. You need to be smart about content marketing. Social media marketing is important and there’s a lot of potential for any blog if it’s done right. You need to be sure of who you’re targeting. Once you have decided that you can target your suitable audience. It can be through Facebook Groups/Pages, Google+ Communities, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.

For getting traffic from search engine, SEO needs to be done right. There’s lots of SEO Plugins available out there for WordPress. It’s not that hard to do SEO right, but at the end of day your content matters.

Whether you work alone or you got people associated for working together? When it comes to freelancing, most of the time I work alone. As far as content marketing goes, it’s always advantageous if you partner up with someone. I have friends in the blogging industry whom I can count on. Promoting each other’s content helps in getting a lot of exposure and it’s a mutual benefit.

What philosophy drives you people for doing this? I started blogging to make my own mark. As of now, I provide freelance services for content creation and web development. Not only does it helps me make money but it also helps in learning about other fields other than my full time day job. Who knows, I might quit my full time job one today and become a full time blogger/freelancer.

What makes your endeavors unique on Internet? I wouldn’t say my endeavors are unique. There’s lots of bloggers/freelancers out there like me. But it’s important to stand out.

What is your ultimate message for netizens? Don’t be afraid to go out and express yourself. Stay focused and determined and nothing is impossible.
