The common draw bag of WordPress commenting system is that your users can know that their specific comment is replied only if they access that web page manually.

There are some plugins like Jetpack and a few other that enables your users to get updates on ongoing conversations but in this lesson we will be showing you a more easy and better way of doing so.

Send email only on Reply to My Comment is a WordPress plugin that automatically sends an email notification to user only when his comment is replied on your website. And no notifications for other comments.

Start by installing ‘Send email only on Reply to My Comment’ plugin in WordPress

Upon activation visit your admin area dashboard Settings -> Subscribe to Comments page and set your options.

Your users now get three options to select from:

  1. Do Not Send Email Notifications.

  2. Send Email Notification ONLY If Someone Replies To My Comment(s).
  3. Send Email Notification Whenever A New Comment Is Posted.

If user selects the second option, email notification will be sent only when someone reply to his comment by clicking the ‘Reply’ button displayed below the published comment on your WordPress site.
