In this lesson we’re rolling out the ability to generate and export a copy of your Gmail and Google Calendar data. We will make it very easy for you to understand how you can back up your data to keep a local copy or move to another service.

Gmail allows you to download all of your email and calendars with subset of labels and calendars. It lets you generate a single downloadable archive file for multiple products having copy of your Gmail, Calendar, Google+, YouTube, Drive, and other Google data.

How To Download Gmail & Google Data?

Visit Google Data tools – Download your data page and choose the Google products to include in your archive. By default it selects Gmail & Calendar, click ‘Show more products’ button to include more Google products and configure the settings for each product.

Click ‘Next’ to create archive file. It allows you to select the archive file type such as ZIP which can be opened on almost any computer. Archives larger than 2GB are split into multiple ZIP files.

Select delivery methods, you can either receive the download link on your email or select to add the archive in your Google drive. Once you are done with options, click ‘Create archive’ button.
