We have discussed about a plugin that allows you to create more plugins from WordPress admin area dashboard. Now this article explains how you can a child theme of any of WordPress theme you are using in just a click from your admin area dashboard.
Child Themify is new WordPress plugin by John P. Bloch. It lets you create child themes directly from WordPress dashboard in a click.
Installation & Usage:
- Install and activate it.
- Visit Dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes page
- Click ‘Create a child theme’ button present under each of installed WordPress theme
- It asks you to name your child theme. Enter the name of your child theme and click “Let’s go!” button
- Now visit Dashboard -> Appearance -> Editor. Switch to your child theme from dropdown selector and add your CSS. If you need you can upload header, footer and other files to this theme via FTP or cPanel
That’s all. You may activate your child theme from dashboard’s theme page. This plugin is WordPress multisite compatible.
