Cryptocurrency is a kind of digital currency which is based on cryptography. This tutorial is on a Cryptocurrency Ticker Widget plugin for WordPress site owners, using this new plugin admins can easily display live cryptocurrency prices such bitcoin and litecoin on their WordPress sites.
Simply install and activate Cryptocurrency Ticker then visit your admin area Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets page and drag its widget to sidebar or another widget area. Widget settings allows you to set what Cryptocurrency you would like to display, the widget supports Bitcoin and Litecoin. You can also enable Delete Cache for forcing any new changes you make to take effect immediately.
The plugin fetches the Cryptocurrency prices from mtgox.com (bitcoin) and btc-e.com (litecoin) using their respective APIs. Ticker prices are cached for a duration you specify in the widget menu, for improving performance and preventing your website from making tons of requests to mtgox.com and btc-e.com.
