Easily Create & Organize New Image Collections Using Separate Folders In WordPress

Now you can very easily create and organize group of images and keep them in a separate folder and use them inside your posts with their URLs, share them on other websites etc. Image Collections is the new, very powerful and useful WordPress plugin made for the webmaster who like uploading and managing image collections in a separate folder other then default media library. The plugin uses custom tables not linked to WordPress Media Library and all images are stored in individual folders outside the Media Library. To start, install and activate Image Collections plugin in your WordPress site. After activation the plugin adds a new menu ‘Collections’ in admin area. Following are the quick steps to start using this cool plugin:

  1. Visit Dashboard -> Collections -> Add Collection page and add a new collection by naming and saving it.
  2. Now visit Dashboard -> Collections -> Manage Collections page and you will be seeing your collection there, click the ‘Open‘ button.
  3. By default it opens up the ‘Options’ tab. There are plenty of options and we will not discuss about theme here. So click ‘Image Uploader‘ tab, there you can upload images to that particular collection by using ‘Select Files‘ button.
  4. After uploading files click ‘Images‘ tab and you will be seeing images with thumbnails, you can copy and use image URLs from here. An easy way to host images and use them for designing websites and webpages across internet.

Each and every collection has its own set of options, name and description, own image dimensions, own folder, up to 2 image sizes: large and thumbnail, title, alt and caption for each of the images.
