Shardul Pandey Talks To Rolando Absinth, An American Electronic Dance Music Producer

Rolando Jasso, better known by his alias Absinth, is an American EDM producer from Houston, Texas who started producing music at the age of 12.

Shardul Pandey: I welcome you Absinth at SANGKRIT.net, please tell our netizens about yourself.

Absinth: Well, this all started about three and a half years ago, I got my hands on FL Studio & I was mainly inspired by underground producers at the moment, mainly Tonic (Deorro). Anyways, as I progressed and learned more of how to produce I began making full scale tracks by the 2nd year. I started seeing that I was getting fans slowly & slowly, but of course I wasn’t at my peak, then 2013 came along. Absinth was born & I started focusing on making tracks that’ll make people rage, I guess people liked what I did & I started gaining exposure till this moment!

Shardul Pandey: Please briefly explain your sound to netizens who have not yet heard your music ?

Absinth: If I would explain my sound, I’d say that my sound is energetic, you’ll feel as if you’re at a festival, bopping your head!

Shardul Pandey: So you compose all of your music on your own ? What do you think, What keeps you unique and how would you like to be remembered ?

Absinth: Yes, I compose all of my music myself. Well, for me I just want to be heard all around the world, serve as an inspiration to other starting producers and music listeners everywhere.

I want to be remembered as that guy that made good music, was always humble and always made time for his fans!

Shardul Pandey: Likewise you compose all of your own music; so from where do you draw ideas, inspiration, intuition from when you write songs ? How much you like this process and when you get completely satisfied with output ?

Absinth: Well, I usually get my ideas from anywhere I go, usually I’m at school and in my head I’m thinking of a rhythm I can use for later when I get home. I get inspiration from all my fans, they motivate me into making good tracks. I also get inspiration from other music. I hear different sounds being used and I just start picking at things myself and start creating a new track.

The process I take usually ranges from a day to a week due to the fact that sometimes I might not have enough time to finish a track or I just can’t seem to put down my ideas. I also sometimes get a bit lazy haha, but I can finish a full scale track and be satisfied with the output, the same day I begin.

Shardul Pandey: So what advice would you give to newbie musicians?

Absinth: Some advice that I’d give newbie producers is to first of all BE PATIENT, if you do not have patience then you will never accomplish things. You need to just work hard and stay dedicated, never give up, if someone gives you negative feedback, use that negative feedback and use it towards your progression. Remember, it’s not always about the money. You will succeed if you keep a pure mindset.

Shardul Pandey: Is there any new projects you are working on or any upcoming albums, tours etc ?

Absinth: I am actually working on an EP that I might be releasing by the end of the year. At the moment I don’t have any events. Hopefully soon I can get in touch with an agency to help me out with bookings and such.

Shardul Pandey: What is your ultimate message for netizens ?

Absinth: My ultimate message would be to just never give up, success always comes from hard work, stay humble, stay positive. Like myself, I keep in touch with all my supporters, I always have time for them. I love all of my supporters!
