Shiny Bliss Ortilano

I welcome you Shiny at SANGKRIT.net, please tell our netizens about yourself?

My name is Shiny Bliss Ortilano, an architecture student who is passionate about blogging, fashion, and travel. I am 22 years old and the youngest among five siblings. Currently, I am studying in a technological school in Manila, Philippines. Drawing, reading and writing are the sort of my hobby which actually convinced me to pursue architecture. Being an architecture student and a blogger at the same time, I always love to go to different places. And as my course suggests, of course I always wander and look into beautiful designs and wonderful architecture of every place I go to. But since I am a student and still dependent to my parents, I could hardly travel anytime I want. So I just took time travelling around and outside Manila for the meantime. I haven’t been to other countries because my finances wouldn’t allow me to but I promised to myself that I would after I graduate from college. Aside from being an architecture and travel lover, I am also a beauty queen and a fashion enthusiast. I have joined some beauty contest few years ago and won. My first beauty queen title was Ms. Architecture in our school. And I think it is also my love for fashion that brought me to this one of a kind experience. For me, fashion is a thing that keeps every lady beautiful. Who doesn’t want to be called stylish and beautiful? Of course every girl does.

Ever since I was young, I love dressing up and fixing myself. I remember my sister told me once that during my elementary days, every time I arrive home from school, my first stop would always be in front of the mirror (lol). I spend hours combing my hair and dressing up my paper dolls. My roots had always been into dresses, shoes and bags which I guess this is why I splurge into fashion today. Since then, fashion has always been my love and has actually introduced me into the fashion blogging world.

How exactly your idea sparked?

I really have never thought of having a fashion blog since I have told you that I am into traveling and architecture. In fact, I don’t even have an idea what a blog is at first. It’s just that one day, I was searching randomly for an outfit on the internet and I was redirected to Kristina Bazan’s site: Kayture.com. I was so amazed by her looks and sense of style. I spent the whole day reading her blog. And this is how I got an idea of what a blog is. I have read on her blog how she started blogging and how she made it. That is then, I discovered blogger! I was like, (on my mind) OMG, I have to start blogging! I wanted to be like her! It is also on her blog that I came to know lookbook.nu, and I started posting looks and outfits then. She has become my favorite fashion blogger since then.

My blog is actually just a few months old and I still consider myself a newbie in this kind of thing. At first, it was just a personal blog which I post random things of my everyday life and happenings. But later on, I decided to focus on one subject and I was caught between two—travel and fashion. I really wanted to have a travel blog but in my mind, “how would I feed my blog if I don’t get to travel all the time?” So then I thought maybe fashion blog is the best idea since I also love fashion and I could just insert my travel experiences along with my outfit posts. And so “seventhbliss” was born. My first few months were all just about my outfits and places I go to but later on, readers came to acknowledge my blog too. I’ve got visitors from different countries and different companies like fashion and clothing sites noticed it too. With my blog’s traffic beginning to evolve, my blog has to develop as well and that is when I started writing sponsored articles and products reviews which I got paid for every words I wrote. For the first time, I began earning through my blog which is one of the many things I never thought of about blogging. From the start, I only thought of blogging as a diary kind of thing but when inquiries and collaboration happens, I came to understand that blogging is a serious business. Since then, I became a full time fashion blogger.

How much time you spend in blogging ? How you have expanded your readership? What blogs you follow?

Much of my time is actually spent on blogging. From photo editing to article writing I got to do it by myself. I am just lucky enough I have my own photographer with a professional camera to follow me around anywhere I go, my boyfriend. He is some sort of my blogging partner which helped me a lot to lessen my work as a blogger. Though I spend much time in my blog, I don’t get to post a blog entry everyday because of my other priorities—studies, projects, family, church and relationships. Publishing two or three articles a week is not bad I guess, just not to bore my readers every time they visit my site.

As I grow in blogging, of course I also learned the value readership because it can attract more opportunities in terms of earnings. The more traffic you have, the more companies will come to your site to advertise. So for me, it is also an important thing to expand my readership and I do it through writing SEOs, joining forums, sharing articles on different social networks and redirecting readers back to my site. I also feed my mind about blogging by reading blogging tips from different sites and one of my favorite sites is Cytricks.com because they have a lot of blogging tips which I found very helpful for beginners like me. Of course I also check on my favorite bloggers’ site everyday namely: kayture.com, kryzuy.com, breakmystyle.com and itscamilleco.com. These sites have become my inspiration in blogging plus I get to feed my fashion ideas by browsing into their latest outfit and styles.

Any future plans for Seventhbliss.Tk ? Are you working on some other projects also ?

Of course I wanted to focus more on my blog in the future so I was planning to take it seriously as early as now since I already have my own domain and advertisers has already noticed my site. I have already done modeling for a certain online shop and number of other collaborations. Currently I am already working on a project with a certain company which I get to write articles about their products and direct my readers to their shopping sites. But of course, I am always open for other opportunities and projects which other sites or companies could offer. I think I am already getting the idea of blogging business so I will do my best to keep these opportunities coming.

Don’t you think product’s information reviewed on blogs is better than what advertisements are showing off ?

For me, product reviews on blogs are way better than what advertisements are saying on the net or television. Why? First, advertisement and product review are two different things. Advertisement means promoting or selling a certain product while product review means evaluating or testing a product. Second, in advertisements, televisions or advertising companies are being paid to say good things about the product otherwise, what’s the use of spending a huge amount of money advertising it when all you get to say are negative things about the brand? This is why product reviews on blogs are better than advertisements. As a matter of fact, product reviews are more factual because you get to try or use it and then you can write about pros and cons about it.

Do you feel more people should start blogging and share their useful information on Internet ?

Yes, blogging is a channel of expressing one’s self and sharing your thoughts and ideas could always be helpful to anyone. It might spark an idea for some, you’ll never know. Sharing your simplest ideas to the world is better than keeping your most brilliant ideas and bringing it to your deathbed.

What is your ultimate message for netizens ?

Don’t be afraid in trying new things. I guess this applies to everyone else not only to bloggers like me. The key thing is BELIEVE IN YOURSELF that you could also do what other people do. Never belittle yourself and never be intimidated by others. Never be discouraged when people laugh at you, make it a motivation instead. And most of all keep your feet on the ground and always remember those who guided your every step to success.

Thank you very much Shiny for opting Internet as your place of doing business. I wish you success in upgrading humanity!
