How To Listen Articles On Internet Using Google Chrome?

Tired of reading articles on Internet, give rest to your eyes and make your Google Chrome web browser read articles for you. Yes, you can easily set your browser to read anything on any web page.

Chrome Speak is a Google Chrome app that can read articles for you and helps you to know correct pronunciation of words. It works both online and offline which makes it very useful for Chromebook users.

Start by adding ‘Chrome Speak’ extension in your Google Chrome or Chromium browser

Once extension is added, it starts to show speak option in right-click i.e. context menu. To start listening some article, all you have to do is select that block of text, right-click and then choose ‘Read the selected text’ option.

If you have selected large amount of text for listening but now you want to stop it. Again right-click and select ‘Stop reading’ option from the context menu and it will stop the ongoing reading process.

The app provides you native speech support for Windows (using SAPI 5), Mac OS X, and Chrome OS, using speech synthesis capabilities.

Also you can change the system default native voice, visit windows for example: Select Start → Control Panel → Ease of Access → Text to Speech. Now click the Text to Speech tab and select your options.
