There are various maintenance mode and under construction plugins available in WordPress plugin repository. Today in this lesson we will show you how you can disallow visitors to access an under development WordPress website and at the same time allow clients i.e. the actual owner of website to access website in order to check ongoing work in progress.
Client Access is the new WordPress plugin that simply enable your clients to see their website work in progress. You can allow access by IP, by user role or by using some universal password with preset expiry time and message.
Start by installing ‘Client Access’ plugin in WordPress
Upon activation, visit your admin area dashboard Settings -> Client Access and here you can allow access by role, IP address and universal password.
There are various other options also such as default message, footer message, expiration date for universal password and more.
