How To Use Subdomains On Different Hosting Accounts And Different Nameservers?

Just like domains you can use custom name servers on subdomains too for domain names registered at Sangkrit.net. This way you can use subdomains the same way you use domains for hosting new websites, as addon domains on any web hosting option or server.

You can use these subdomains on any VPS, Dedicated Server, or any Shared Hosting plan just like the regular domain names.

How To Point Subdomains To Custom Name Servers?

Login to your Sangkrit.net account and follow the given steps:

  1. Access your Sangkrit.net domain manager, the one you see on MY ACCOUNTS page
  2. Select your domain and click the Manage button
  3. On the DNS configuration page scroll down and click the “Add Record” button
  4. Select a new “Nameserver” entry on the Record Type field where the “host” will be your subdomain name which you want to point to custom name servers. Use the proper nameserver naming format or Sangkrit.net will kick an error. “Points to” will be the name server such as NS1.SANGKRIT.net dns-subdomain
  5. Then you can add a new record with the same host and this will point to NS2.SANGKRIT.net (if required).

That’s all. DNS propagation takes some time and then you would be able to use this subdomain on your hosting or server by adding it as ADDON DOMAIN on cPanel or wherever you like.

Alternative Method: Alternatively you can add A record (instead of NS Record Type) pointing to your server’s or hosting’s shared IP address.

How To Restart Domain Name Transfer In Case It Fails?

If you are trying to transfer your domain name to Sangkrit.net and your current registrar has rejected your request because of failed verification, pending payment, or any other reason, you can resolve it easily yourself.

The cause or the type of error with your domain transfer to Sangkrit.net is displayed as a status on the Transfers-In page of your Domain Manager in your Sangkrit.net account.

Now what you have to do is first resolve the error so that it won’t trouble you in the future and then revisit the Transfers-In page to restart your domain name transfer.

All domain name transfers stay active until they get complete, or until they expire which is 30 days from the transfer date.

How to check the domain transfer status?

  1. Log in to your account, visit the My Products tab, and click Manage All
  2. From the Domains menu, select Transfers-In

Now if there is an issue with your transfer, you will see clear messaging about it on this page. Once you resolve the issue, you’ll need to revisit the Transfers-In page and click Restart Transfer.

After you restart a transfer, you must authorize it – read this tutorial.

When you transfer a domain name to Sangkrit.net to get full control over it and benefit from the free extras, the step-by-step process guides you in everything.

Troubleshooting Domain Transfer Errors

  1. Error: Domain locked – You must unlock your domain name at your current registrar, and then click Restart transfer on the Transfers-In page.
  2. Error: Protected Registration enabled – If you have protected registration, you must cancel this protection at your current registrar and change your administrative (admin) contact’s email address (if necessary). If you have a .au domain name, you should update your registrar contact’s email address. Then, click Restart transfer.
  3. Error: Invalid authorization code – You entered an invalid authorization code for your domain name transfer. Click the Update authorization code to re-enter it.
  4. Error: Transfer rejected – Your current registrar rejected your domain name transfer. Contact your current registrar to resolve outstanding issues, and then repurchase the transfer in your account with Sangkrit.net.

If your domain name is stuck in No action required: Initializing status, it means that the system is initiating your domain name transfer. However, if you have registered or transferred the domain name in the past 60 days, then ICANN policy says that you cannot transfer it in between. But that is not a problem for you as the system will automatically re-initiate your domain transfer when the domain name becomes eligible for it.

What You Can Do If Your Domain Name Transfer Is Denied?

Sometimes the transfer of your domain name gets denied and it generally happens due to some technical issues such as when the domain name is locked, invalid authentication code, domain name is under dispute, etc. it’s important to understand why it happened and how you can address the issue. Here are some common reasons for domain transfer denials and what you can do in each case.

Domain Name Is Locked – Your domain name is locked by you for security reasons. This issue can be easily resolved by logging into your domain account and unlocking your domain.

Sixty-Day Lock Period Is Active – Your domain was registered or transferred less than 60 days ago. ICANN doesn’t allow registrars to process domain transfers within sixty days of those events. This is no problem as your domain transfer is automatically processed as soon as your 60-day lock is lifted.

Missing Authorization Code – Your transferred domain is missing the authorization code. You can get your auth code from your current registrar, generally, it is emailed to you to your email address. Get it and then enter it into your Sangkrit.net account –

  1. Log in to your Sangkrit.net
  2. Select Transfers In
  3. Select the Finalize Transfer tab
  4. Find the domain by using the search box
  5. Enter your authorization code(s) in the new window
  6. Select Enter Auth Codes above the list of your domains, OR
  7. Or, select Enter in the Auth Code column for an individual domain
  8. Select Submit to save your changes

You’ll see confirmation that your changes have been accepted. Domain transfers usually take 5 to 7 days to complete.

Invalid Auth Code – This happens when the authorization code you have entered for your domain transfer is invalid. Simply verify the correct auth code with your current registrar and enter it into your Sangkrit.net account following the same steps that are given above.

Registrant Eligibility Is Unverified – Some domain names have special eligibility requirements for registration and transfers. Contact the online support of Sangkrit.net to get help in this regard.

Registry Is Lock: Your domain name is locked at the registry level. Here, your present domain registrar will need to remove the lock for you.

So review your domain transfer issue, check it with your registrar to resolve any problems, and then restart your domain name transfer again by following these steps –

  1. Log in to your Sangkrit.net
  2. Select Transfers In
  3. Select the Restart Transfer tab
  4. Find a specific domain by using the search option
  5. Check the box next to the domain you’re restarting, Or
  6. Select the checkmark icon to Select All domains
  7. Select Restart Transfer visible above your domain list

You’ll see a confirmation that your transfer has been restarted. Domain name transfers usually take from five to seven days to complete. You receive an email notification once your domain name transfer is successful. Next, you can start managing your domain name from your Sangkrit.net account. You can make your website with Managed WordPress or an online store with WordPress Ecommerce, etc.

How To Recover An Expired Domain Name?

Every domain name has a specified registration period, generally one year but sometimes longer if you have registered it for a longer time. As the expiration date approaches, domain registrants receive multiple notifications reminding them to renew the domain.

Still, if the registrant fails, the system may provide a grace period after the official expiration date. During this period, the domain owner can still renew the domain without losing ownership. The length of the grace period may vary but is often around 30 days.

Sometimes it is possible to recover an expired domain name. If you have registered or transferred your domain at Sangkrit.net, you can attempt to recover your expired top-level domain names (TLDs) during the renewal grace and registry redemption periods. Many times it can be successfully recovered even if you have missed the renewal grace period and the domain is no longer visible on your account.

Log in to your Sangkrit.net account and follow the steps:

  1. Visit My Products page and click Manage All
  2. From the top menu, click the Domains tab, and select Expired Domains.
  3. Select the domain names you want to recover.
  4. Click Recover.
  5. Select the renewal length for the domain names, and then click Next.
  6. Optionally you can select the registration and website options you want to apply to your domain name renewals.
  7. Complete the checkout process.

Renewal lengths for multiple domain names can vary depending upon the maximum renewal lengths allowed by each domain name registry.

If the domain is no longer visible for registration then contact the support team by calling the number given in the footer of the system’s page and share your problem, the executive will help you regain access to the expired domain name.

How Control Can Still Be Gained Over An Expired Domain Name That Has Also Missed Its Grace Period?

If the domain is not renewed within the grace period, it enters a redemption period. During this phase, the domain is no longer active, and the original registrant may need to pay a redemption fee, which is often significantly higher than a standard renewal fee, to reclaim the domain. The length of the redemption period varies but is typically between 30-60 days.

After the redemption period, the domain goes into a “Pending Deletion” status, and it is no longer available for renewal. During this phase, it is queued for deletion by the registry, and it’s generally inaccessible. But still, at this point, the registrant may gain control over the domain name by contacting the support and they help him to re-register the domain name if is still not deleted and queued for the registry.

After the deletion period, the domain is typically released to the public and becomes available for registration by anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. But many times it goes for the auction and sometimes especially popular domains are backordered by people and are resold at a higher price.

So how to save yourself from missing the renewal period? Simply turn on the auto-renew option. It automatically renews the domain for the registrant, typically using the payment method on account. If you have auto-renewal enabled, your domain will automatically renew on time.

What To Do If You Have Misspelled And Registered A Wrong Domain Name?

Domain names are valuable assets, so it’s important to ensure you have registered the right domain to represent your online presence. If you’re unable to correct the misspelled domain, securing the correct domain name and redirecting the misspelled one to the correct address to avoid any potential confusion is the next best step to take.

If you’ve misspelled your domain name during the registration process, it’s essential to address this issue promptly to avoid potential complications. In some special cases you might get a refund, so directly contact the support team for help.

Contact The Support

Immediately get in touch with the online support team. Some cases have a grace period during which you can make corrections to domain names or even request a refund. The grace period duration can vary depending on the terms and policies, but it’s typically a few minutes to a day or week.

Verify Refund & Correction Policies

Get in touch with the support and also review the terms and conditions to understand the refund and correction policies. Some cases may allow you to make spelling corrections, while others may offer a refund within the grace period, which you can use to register the correct domain.

Request A Correction

Some cases permit the corrections and you’re still within the grace period, request a correction to the misspelled domain name. Provide the correct spelling and any necessary documentation to support your request.

Register The Correct Domain Name

If your case does not allow corrections or if you missed the grace period, simply register the correct domain name separately. Ensure that you register the correct domain before someone else does. You can still use the misspelled domain as well, but it’s a good idea to redirect it to the correct one.

Redirect Or Forward the Misspelled Domain

To minimize any inconvenience for visitors who may accidentally type the misspelled domain, you can set up a redirect or forwarding service through domain settings in your account section. This will automatically redirect users from the misspelled domain to the correct one.

You May Cancel The Wrong Domain Name

There is an option to cancel any domain name registration but in most cases, it does not offer or guarantee any refund. Canceling a domain name simply ensures that it is no longer registered to you. So the best option is to avoid canceling the domain name, register the correct domain name and redirect the wrong domain to the right one, or contact the support team to know whether the refund is applicable or not.

Promote The Correct Domain

Focus your marketing efforts and branding on the correct domain name. This way, you can steer traffic to the intended website address, reducing the chances of people continuing to use the misspelled domain.

If your domain name misspelling could potentially be used by others to imitate your website, consider registering the misspelled version as well. This can help prevent others from capitalizing on the typo and potentially causing confusion or harm to your business name.

Review and update any marketing materials, business cards, advertisements, and social media profiles that display the domain name to reflect the correct spelling.

Registering Domain Names In Your Local Language

The Internationalized Domain Name system lets you register domain names in your dialect. These domains can be formed using characters from different scripts, are encoded by the Unicode standard, and are used as allowed by relevant IDN protocols.

ICANN instituted the IDN Program for the development of a multilingual Internet. As the Internet uses ASCII which is an English alphabet-based character encoding standard for electronic communication, it represents text in computers, various devices, and the Internet.

With Internationalized Domain Names (IDN), the system of Sangkrit.net makes it possible for anyone to register a domain name in his native language. You can register IDNs by searching for a domain name in your language-specific scripts, such as Devanagari, Chinese, Arabic, Cyrillic, Hebrew, or the Latin alphabet-based characters with diacritics or ligatures, such as in the French language. These domain names are limited to certain TLDs but include all top-level domain extension options such as .com .net .org.

How To Register Domain Names In Your Native Language?

Visit http://system.sangkrit.net then type your domain name in your native language (you may use Google Input Tools to type in your local language) and press the GO button. This will show you a list of available domain names and some suggestions in case the searched domain name is already taken.

The screenshot shows an internationalized domain name in the Hindi language

Next, select the domain name and continue to the cart. While registering your domain name, you will be prompted to add WordPress to your domain to self-start your website. Once a domain name is registered it can be managed from the My Products section in your Sangkrit.net account.

Picking The Most Suitable Domain Name For Your Business

Selecting the right domain name is the most essential step for any business. This lesson is going to help you nicely with that.

Your domain name impacts your business identity and your overall online presence. Here are the steps to assist you in picking the most suitable domain name for your business website.

Finalizing Your Domain Name

Short and easy domain names are better than long and lengthy ones. Your domain name should be concise and memorable because short domain names are easier to remember and type. Aim for a domain name that is straightforward and easy to spell and bypass long, complex names that are prone to typos.

Choose a unique name. Ensure your domain name is distinct and not easily confused with other websites. Avoid hyphens, numbers, and special characters that may confuse visitors.

While registering your domain name you should also keep your business in mind because your domain is going to reflect your online originality. You must consider how it sounds and whether it’s catchy and memorable. It should leave a positive impression on visitors. For instance, if your domain name has a dash or special character in between, it will certainly sound odd especially when you speak it to someone.

Finalizing The TLD i.e. Domain Extension

Once you finalize the domain name, the next step is to check its availability. Simply use Sangkrit.net’s Domain Search to check if your desired domain name is available. Be prepared with alternative options in case your first choice is taken.

Use the right domain extension i.e. TLD. Common domain extensions like .com, .org, and .net are generally preferred because they are more familiar to users. But you should know that there are plenty of other domain extensions in the market so be open-minded as your online success depends on how well you work on your domain name and not what TLD you use. Each extension stands for a purpose such as .org is for organization and .us stands for the United States.

Get the extension that suits your business the most. For example: choosing a .co extension for an organization may look odd. Consider your future growth and think about your long-term goals and whether the domain name will still be relevant as your website grows or expands into other streams and niches.

Be Wise If Including Keywords

One common mistake made by new domain registrants is they go with the trends and fads. Avoid doing that, while trendy words or phrases may appear appealing for the time, they might go outdated later on. Choose a timeless domain name that stands the test of time.

You may take a mild benefit of SEO i.e. Search Engine Optimization which is a priority for every website owner by including relevant keywords in your domain name. Brainstorm keywords related to your website’s content, niche, or business. These keywords may help your domain name reflect what your site is all about and improve SEO.

However, do it wisely and don’t overdo it, your domain name should still stay user-friendly. The popularity of your domain depends on how well you work for it and not keywords etc.

Good keywords play a role in SEO such as they may assist the domain in relevant search results. But sometimes keywords may also bring problems, especially in the long run. As time changes, new things come out and many things go away like Google Buzz is now nowhere. For example: Today nobody uses Orkut and hence all domains registered with the purpose of posting articles about the service are today of no use.

If you are a blogger you should be very serious while choosing a domain name. Think twice before choosing a domain name with a keyword. For example: keywords prefixed domains may act well for SEO but in the future, it won’t be easy for you to change the domain name and re-establish your online identity.

For instance, Amazon.com can rebrand its website for some other service but androidlessons.xyz cannot easily change its blogging topic.

So sometimes meaning-less domain names perform better than meaningful keywords.

You May Register Domain Variations

You may purchase similar domain variations that may include faulty domains so that people wrongly typing your domain may also reach your website. This protects your business identity. Consider buying common misspellings or variations of your domain name to prevent competitors or squatters from using them. You can easily find and register similar domain names from the bulk domain registration page.

Bring Your Business Online

Once you have registered your domain name, simply subscribe to a Managed WordPress plan to bring your website online. Always remember to renew your domain on time to avoid losing it or you may simply turn on the auto-renewal feature.

Your domain name is an essential part of your online identity, so take your time and choose wisely. Once you’ve selected the perfect domain name, register it to bring your business online.

How To Identify & Fix HTTP Errors Of Your Website?

Every HTTP error has an HTTP code that describes the status of a URL to the client. These three-digit codes include error messages that visitors encounter.

Following are the five classes of HTTP codes divided into categories, by the first digit:

  1. Errors starting with 1, 2, or 3 are fully functional requests
  2. Errors starting with 4 are client-side error, the most common error codes span 400 to 404
  3. Errors starting with 5 are server-side error, the most common error codes span 500 to 510

4xx Errors

These errors show up where there is a problem with the client’s request (web browser etc), but often point to a problem on a website.

For instance: You have a broken link on your website, the client requests it and receives a 404 error page. That is how it works.

To resolve this you can check for broken links on your website. On WordPress this can be either done by a plugin or you can check error pages from cPanel -> Home -> Advanced -> Error Pages.

400 Bad Request

It happens when the user’s request contains an incorrect syntax.

401 Unauthorized

The error shows up when the requested file is a protected one and requires authentication, such as a username and password.

403 Forbidden

In general, this happens when the index file is missing on your server or the root directory is empty, or when you have purchased a new hosting and have not uploaded your website or have not installed WordPress, etc.

Other times, it happens when the server stops the visitor to access the requested file. To resolve this, check for the file’s permission settings. Also see whether the system protects the file in cPanel’s Indexes interface (cPanel -> Home -> Advanced -> Indexes).

404 Not Found

When the server doesn’t find the requested URL. Commonly occurs when a visitor mistypes a URL or you have interlinked to a dead URL.

Managed WordPress users may use a permalink finder plugin to reduce this error to zero.

5xx Errors

Such errors occur when a server fails to full fill an apparently-valid request made by the client. These errors are a little bit complicated because sometimes a chain of servers handles an HTTP request which means that the error may also come from other server.

In WordPress, you can resolve it by testing your themes and plugins as it generally comes from there.

Comment below for any assistance in this regard.

500 Internal Server Error

The error is a result of misconfiguration, especially when the server finds some unexpected condition and fails to gather any information about the real problem it is facing.

501 Not Implemented

Comes when the server does not support the client’s chosen HTTP method. Also, occurs on out-of-date servers. To resolve, try reloading your page, clear the browser cache. Other issues might include viruses or malware or an overload on your server.

502 Bad Gateway

Occurs when proxy servers are badly configured or IP communication between backend systems is poor or when the client’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) is overloaded. May also occur due to imroperly configured firewall functions.

Clearing the client’s (web browser) cache sometimes work in resolving this issue. Other times, you may need to report the issue to an expert. You may also comment here for help.

Try to start a new browser session, restart your system and network, change DNS and clear your cache.

503 Service Unavailable

When a server fails to handle requests due to a temporary overload or when the server is temporarily under maintenance. Generally happens when you update your website’s software. To resolve, simply wait.

504 Gateway Timeout

Comes when a server did not receive a timely response. Can happen temporarily or when your server starts to go out of resources or due to slow communication between upstream servers. To resolve, look for any server connectivity issues, check the requested page code, test your firewall for any faults.

505 HTTP Version Not Supported

When the server refuses to allow the HTTP protocol that the client system specifies. This error generally occurs when the user’s system incorrectly specifies the protocol. To resolve, switch to a modern web browser.

506 Variant Also Negotiates

Means the server is not properly configured. To resolve this issue, contact an expert or research yourself or comment below.

507 Insufficient Storage

Simply means that the server is out of free memory. The error comes when requested application fails to allocate necessary server resources. To resolve this issue, contact an expert or research yourself or comment below.

509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

This means that your server has reached its bandwidth limit, and you need more resources. To resolve, wait every time until the limit resets or try reducing your resource usage or upgrade your hosting plan or move to a dedicated server.

510 Not Extended

Shows up when the webserver does not support the extension attached to the HTTP request. To resolve, wait every time until the limit resets, or reduce your resource usage, or upgrade your hosting plan, or move to a dedicated server.
